PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, June 9, 2011 — Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), an industry-leading provider of voice communications, data infrastructure, and technology products, announced today that it will be showcasing its Wireless Video Presentation Systems II (Wireless VPS II) at InfoComm, June 15–17 in Orlando, Florida.
One of Black Box’s top-selling solutions for conference room and classroom presentations, the Wireless VPS II (Black Box SKU: AC1131A) gives instructors, teachers, meeting room facilitators, and event planners a quick and inexpensive way to make any VGA projector wireless.
It is also an ideal offering for any integrator or reseller looking to update their product portfolio with easy-to-demonstrate, plug-and-play meeting room technology.
“Just about every company or organization has a conference room,” says Brian Kutchma, Black Box VP of Sales & Marketing, “so it doesn’t take much to convince customers that they can certainly benefit from having this economically priced wireless solution in every conference room of theirs.”
The compact wireless receiver enables multiple PC or Mac® laptop users, or even mobile PDA users, to stream video and audio from right where they sit, eliminating the need for users to plug and unplug cables at the projector when they want to switch presenters.
Because it communicates with handheld devices running Windows® Mobile, presenters no longer need to lug a laptop along to a meeting to participate. To share information, users simply log in to the system from a PDA and begin streaming images through a conference room projector for everyone to see.
In addition, the system supports 4-to-1 split-screen projection, so up to four users’ screens can be projected through a single projector at the same time, which is great for meeting collaboration or classroom training applications.
Because the Wireless VPS II supports distances up to 300 feet, it is ideal for large conferences, lecture halls, and convention/exhibit hall venues. Plus, the system works as a wireless access point, so laptop users can even access information from the Internet or a wireless LAN (WLAN).
The Wireless VPS II attaches directly to any device with a VGA port and communicates with any computer with 802.11b/g capabilities within its range.
Also, the system comes with a “plug-and-show” token that lessens setup time for meeting participants. “You simply plug the token into a computer’s USB port and, in a matter of seconds, you can be wirelessly projecting their screen through a projector,” Kutchma explained. “There’s no easier way to transform a wired projector into a high-end wireless one.”

As a bonus, visitors to Black Box Booths #5874 and #5878 can also enter into drawing for a free Wireless VPS II. Black Box will be giving away five of these systems during InfoComm.
