Posted on Monday, April 11, 2011
WAYNE, NJ (April 6, 2011) – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., unveiled two new network video recorders today at ISC West 2011 (Booth 2092), which runs through April 8 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The new VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U offer 16 and 32-channel recording, respectively, as well as support for 1080p and 720p full HD resolutions with H.264 High Profile, MPEG-4, and M-JPEG multi-codec support.
The VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U include the latest versions of Milestone XProtect Enterprise and Windows Embedded OS, as well as built-in camera licenses with no recurring fees. The units offer enterprise-level full HD recording and viewing for an unlimited number of NVRs, cameras, sites, and users. More than 1,000 different camera/encoder models can be supported by installing the latest Milestone device driver pack. A broad selection of software add-ons and third-party integrations, plus a fully documented SDK, are also available.
Both 3 RU models include four HDD bays and ship with a pre-installed 1 TB drive. Three additional drives can be easily installed from the front panel for up to 4 TB of on-board storage. The NVRs also support RAID 1, 5, and 10, with optional support for RAID 6 technology. There is no front panel operation; instead, all controls are administrated locally through a mouse and keyboard using an external monitor or by a remote administrator on the network. A rear panel I/O offers alarm interface support.
“The new VR-X NVRs build on the heritage of JVC’s reliable VR-N family of versatile, all-in-one recording and playback solutions, plus they deliver full HD resolution and support for H.264 High Profile, MPEG-4, and M-JPEG,” explained Matt Barrett, product manager, JVC Security Group. “They are the perfect complement to JVC’s new line of Super LoLux HD V.Networks cameras, and are ideal for any installation where high definition surveillance is required.”
The VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U will ship in October 2011. Pricing has not yet been determined.
