If you’ve visited Ghent in recent weeks, you may have noticed the striking posters featuring the face of Claudia Cardinale advertising a Belgian fall classic event: Film Fest Gent. Film connoisseurs head into this beautiful medieval city from 10 to 20 October, to enjoy short and feature-length films from all corners of the world. Once again, Barco is proud to sponsor this well-known, well-loved cinematic event.

More than just movies
Now one of Europe’s most iconic film-themed events, Film Fest Gent was established over four decades ago and takes place in October at venues across the city. The theme of 2017 highlights the beauty, darkness, depth and richness of Italian cinema.

10 days of films might sound like a lot, but Film Fest Gent is about much more than just movies. Film music also takes its place in the spotlight, as the festival organizes the World Soundtrack Awards – considered among the most prestigious in the world. This year’s edition celebrates the influence of jazz on cinema to mark the 100th birthday of the genre.
