Recently we welcomed James Gardiner, a.k.a. CineTechGeek, to one of our training rooms to peek inside our DP4K-60L flagship laser projector for cinema.

Featuring 6P (6-primary) lasers, the DP4K-60L projector boasts brightness levels of up to 56,000 lumens which makes it the brightest projector in the world. Barco’s range of flagship laser projectors allows exhibitors to differentiate their entertainment value while enjoying ongoing economic benefits. 

Ingeniously engineered

In his video, Gardiner discusses different aspects of the DP4K-60L ingenious engineering such as the 6P laser engine as part of the projector’s modular design. Unlike other solutions, the projector doesn’t use fiber optics – leading to significantly higher optical efficiency. Gardiner also zooms in on the single-head projector setup with one light engine and a single lens which offers more simplicity as there’s no alignment needed between multiple projectors. He claims that this projector offers the best reproduction of rec. 2020 color space in the world today.
