What does the operating room (OR) of the future look like? How can 4K add value during medical procedures? Visitors to last month’s Health Challenge Congress in Katowice, Poland, and the Hospital Build & Modernization conference got answers to these questions during a dedicated Barco presentation and workshop.
The future of OR Integration
With over 2,000 guests and 250 speakers, the Health Challenge Congress provides an inspiring and interesting forum for healthcare professionals to discuss the challenges they’re facing today. During one of the many sessions, our colleague Johan Stockman, VP Strategic Marketing Surgical Imaging, zoomed in on the operating room of the future. Johan explained how future-proofing is essential to ensure functional compatibility between legacy infrastructure and new technology such as 4K endoscopy. Barco’s Nexxis OR-over-IP platform has been designed to meet these challenges in a very efficient and cost-effective way − enabling its users to install or upgrade their operating rooms in a new 4K paradigm.
The power of 4K in the hospital
During the Health Challenge Congress, our trusted medical distributor ALVO MEDICAL organized `Hospital Build & Modernization Poland 2016’ – a platform for investors, planners, architects and hospital CEOs to meet with suppliers and discuss key issues regarding the architectural challenges of hospital IT systems. Together with Alvo, we set up a dedicated workshop, introducing participants to the complete imaging chain with particular emphasis on 4K. Barco also closed the conference, speaking about its recent achievements in clinical imaging.
